The Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, was asked, "Which pilgrimage (1) is the best?" He replied, “The loud-voiced(2), and abundant in animal sacrifice.” Footnotes: (1): (Ḥajj) The pilgrimage to Makkah during the first half of the month of Thul-Ḥijjah, which is the fifth pillar of Islām. (2) when reciting the Pilgrimage Invocation : (at-Talbiyah) A special invocation that is recited during Pilgrimage asserting the pilgrims' conviction that they intend to perform pilgrimage only in God's way, purifying themselves and leaving behind their worldly interests. The invocation is: “[I am] at Your service, O God, [I am] at Your service. [I am] at Your service - You have no partner - [I am] at Your service. Indeed, Yours alone are praise and bounty, and yours alone is sovereignty; You have no partner.” Click on ḥadīth to read more
